SharkScope Desktop 3.23 Release Notes

This update fixes the problems reported since 3.22:

SharkScope sign-in: Fixed the app treating an expired SharkScope session as a wrong password. It no longer erases your saved password when the SharkScope service returns a session error, so a brief server-side problem can no longer lock you out or make “SharkScope account expired or invalid email or password” reappear every few minutes. If you were affected, enter your password once more after updating — there is no need to change it.
SharkScope sign-in: Fixed sign-in failing with a connection error for accounts that have no saved SharkScope filters. The server was accepting the sign-in; the app then failed while reading the reply, and reported it as a wrong password or an unreachable server. If you have been unable to sign in while the SharkScope website accepts the same password, this is the fix.
SharkScope connection errors: Fixed “unable to connect to the SharkScope server” being shown for problems that were nothing of the sort. An unexpected reply from the server is now reported accurately and recorded in the log instead of being discarded.
HUD diagnostics (Mac): When SharkScope Desktop cannot see any other application’s windows, it now says so and explains how to restore the permission, instead of reporting “No supported poker room running”. macOS often drops the Screen Recording permission when an application is updated, and it cannot be repaired by toggling it — remove SharkScope Desktop from System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, add it back, then restart the app.
Poker room detection (Mac): Poker room names are now matched regardless of spacing and punctuation. On Apple silicon macOS reports some clients under a slightly different spelling — America’s Cardroom in particular — which could stop the room being recognised.
Please do not install an older version to work around a problem. SharkScope Desktop 3.17 cannot read the database that 3.22 and later create, and will offer to erase your hand history. Contact support instead.
See from ‘Help-menu/What’s New?’ for a complete release notes history of each version.
Good luck with your games! May the Poker Gods be generous!
